Support the state, the society
The Bodossaki Foundation was established in 1973 and is one of the first welfare institutions set up in Greece. It is the result of a long, strenuous and consistent effort of its founder, Prodromos Athanasiadis-Bodossakis to support the state, the society and his fellow men, as a legacy of the tradition he himself carried, together with many other Greek benefactors such as Averoff, Varvakis, Sismanoglou, Zappas and other representatives of the Greek diaspora.
The Bodossaki Foundation is currently active in four main strategic pillars: Education, Health and Welfare, preservation of the Environment and the empowerment of the Civil Society.
Since its establishment, the Foundation has administered over €400 million, in education, improving medical and research infrastructures, protecting the environment and reducing inequality of opportunities.
Being established as a Foundation of trust, transparency and accountability, the Bodossaki Foundation is currently active in seeking and administering funds for the benefit of the society as a whole, as well as for the benefit of specific target groups in the society that are mainly hurt by the crisis. Being chosen to become the Fund Operator of the EEA&Norway Grants Greek NGO Program “We are all Citizens” is only a first step to the Foundation’s commitment to actively seek new funds in order to continue the philanthropic tradition of its founder, as well as his lasting legacy.
The Bodossaki Foundation submits its financial data to the Ministry of Finance on an annual basis and is also audited by an external group of independent auditors.
