Public Benefit Foundation
The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation is responsible for managing and implementing the public benefit work of the Latsis family members who constitute the Supervisory Board; Henrietta Latsis, Spiro Latsis, Marianna Latsis and Margarita Latsis. The Foundation supports initiatives both in Greece and abroad, thus continuing the public service legacy of John S. Latsis. Its activities are mostly oriented towards the fields of education, scientific research, social welfare, and culture. Although the Foundation has an international presence, the geographic focus of its funding is primarily on Greece.
Its activities are grouped into two general categories: the programmes designed and implemented by the Foundation itself and the third party initiatives it finances. In both cases, the Foundation endeavours to regard the organizations it funds as partners, providing not only financial assistance but also constant support to create synergies as well as to ensure, in each case, the maximum utilization of funds.
Conscious of the fact that the assets of a single foundation do not suffice to cover the ever increasing needs of our society, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation invests significant time and thought in determining the projects where its funds will have the greatest multiplier benefit. This is possible through strategic, long-term planning that combines the Foundation’s values and priorities with a steady, clear-eyed look at society and its true needs.
